How to file a petition

If you feel that you have been unequally treated and would like to have an expert opinion on the matter, you should write a letter to the CGB. In your letter, you should explain why you feel that you have been treated unequally and specify who is responsible.

The more information you give, the better the CGB can understand the nature of your complaint. Therefore, you should send copies of all important documents relevant to your complaint. If you feel that you are paid less than a colleague without valid reasons, you should specify which colleague you are comparing your salary with.

Your letter should be written in Dutch, and should at least contain:

  • your name and address
  • the name and address of the other party
  • the reason why you are asking the CGB for a decision on your case, that is the ground of differentiation on which you feel you have been unequally treated
  • a specific request to the CGB to investigate your complaint
  • the date on which you send the letter

If someone else is filing the request on your behalf and will represent you during the procedure, you should sign a statement of authorisation. This statement should be enclosed with the letter.
